Some useful information to get to a ski resort in this winter.
The options are plane, train (all the way), train and car, ferry and car. But in detail:

Holiday for the Lads
Bulgaria is cheap, more beer for your money and popular with young
groups.  Borovets or Pamporovo.
Good beginner slopes in Les Deux Alps,
in France. Saalbach Hinterglemm in
Austria has good nursery slopes and plenty of intermediate runs

Couples
Saas Fee in Switzerland has picture postcard architecture, designer shops and plenty of candlelit restaurants. Ferienart Hotel or Fletschhorn.
Megeve in the french alps,
Ischgl in the Austrian Tyrol. Try the super chic Hotel Madlein.
